Donor Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern all donations made to Get Back On Feet (www.getbackonfeet.org). By making a donation, you agree to these terms.

1. Tax Exemption Status (CRITICAL DISCLOSURE)

Get Back On Feet is currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Donations are NOT Tax-Deductible: At this time, all donations made to getbackonfeet.org are NOT tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Future Status: We will update our website immediately upon receiving approval of our 501(c)(3) status. Any donations made before the approval date are not eligible for tax deduction.

2. Use of Funds

Your donation supports the general mission of Get Back On Feet, which is to provide immediate assistance with essential utility bills to individuals and families facing financial hardship.

Unrestricted Giving: All donations are considered unrestricted gifts unless specified otherwise in writing and explicitly acknowledged by an officer of Get Back On Feet.

Mission Flexibility: While our primary focus is utility bill assistance, Get Back On Feet reserves the right to use funds where the need is greatest to fulfill our mission, including operational costs (e.g., staffing, administrative, and technological expenses).

3. Refunds and Cancellation

All donations are final and non-refundable.

No Refunds: As donations are used immediately for program and administrative expenses, Get Back On Feet does not offer refunds once the transaction is complete.

Recurring Donations: If you set up a recurring donation, you may cancel future recurring payments at any time by contacting us directly at support@getbackonfeet.org. Cancellation will prevent future charges but will not refund previous donations.

4. Donor Privacy and Information

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors.

Information Collection: We collect your name, email, payment information, and address to process your donation and acknowledge your gift. Full payment card details are processed by secure third-party payment processors and are not stored on our servers.

Privacy Policy: Your information is handled according to our comprehensive Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. We do not sell, trade, or share donor information with any outside entity.

5. Acknowledgement

You will receive an email confirmation and a formal acknowledgement letter for your donation, which will include the date and amount. This acknowledgement will explicitly state the current non-tax-deductible status of the donation.

6. Governing Law

These Donor Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois.

By submitting a donation, you certify that all information provided is true and correct and that you agree to be bound by these Donor Terms and Conditions.
